PAEEJ Leadership Team Honored by President Évariste Ndayishimiye on Labor Day

In a rare and distinguished moment during the national Labor Day celebrations, members of the supervisory team of the Youth Economic Empowerment and Employment Program (PAEEJ) received special recognition from the President of the Republic of Burundi.

During the official ceremony held at Intwari Stadium in Bujumbura, the Head of State commended the team’s outstanding contributions, stating, “If we had 100 Burundians working with the same dedication as the leaders of PAEEJ, our country would see rapid development.”

As a token of appreciation, each team member was awarded 5 million Burundian francs and promised a work vehicle to be granted upon completion of their service. The gesture reflects the government’s commitment to acknowledging excellence and promoting innovation in public service.

The honored individuals include:

  • Prof. Désiré Manirakiza, Director of the PAEEJ Program
  • Hassan Kibeya, Head of the Youth Entrepreneurship Department
  • Clarisse Nsabimana, Director of Administration and Finance (DAF)
  • Alida Niyongabo, Head of the Training Department

This recognition underlines the pivotal role of PAEEJ in advancing youth employment and entrepreneurship in Burundi, and the leadership team’s exemplary dedication to national development.
