Divine Irambona, a young Burundian graduated from the faculties of medical sciences in Human Nutrition, is a fervent defender of the environment and human well-being. Her commitment led her to become an ecopreneur and environmentalist. Founder and director of the company “Trans_Eco”, she is dedicated to the production of biodegradable packaging and environmentally friendly products from fibrous agricultural waste. Today, she is also an Alumni of CRL YALI Dakar, session 23.

Noting the devastating consequences of global warming, such as food insecurity, Divine Irambona decided, with her team, to offer sustainable solutions. โ€œWe not only need to mitigate these consequences, but also reduce the plastic packaging that is flooding our landfills and our oceans,โ€ she explains. Her initiative, born from a business opportunity, took shape with the creation of Trans_Eco.

Divine was the only woman selected among the ten innovators, occupying a creditable fourth place. For Divine, the circular economy and the green economy represent a promising way to combat youth unemployment. โ€œProtecting the environment while helping to reduce unemployment and malnutrition is a crucial objective for me and my SME, Trans_Eco,โ€ she says with conviction.

Her vision and dedication were recognized on July 9, 2024, when she had the honor of receiving a visit from the President of the Republic of Burundi Evariste Ndayishimiye on the sidelines of the Inkebuzo caravan as a form of encouragement.
